Believe it or not, winter is the most visited time in Europe! Can you imagine why?
Well i couldn’t really at first, but then it hit me … of course … it was THE HOLIDAYS!!!
Even Mr UTer and I have been visiting Europe every year for the holidays, looking for the best Christmas presents, surrounded of the lovely sound of Christmas carols and the smell of a Christmas treat, clearly the best destination for perfect Christmas holidays.
As every year now, we ended up this year in Paris and it was amazing! Trust me when i say that the name City of Lights comes from this time of the year which is simply wonderful.
So please bear some moments with us and lets dive into what we think are the best Christmas Markets in Paris.
First of all you need to know that even if the Christmas Markets are opened during mid November to the first days of January, Paris has much more to offer.
In Paris, as in the rest of France, the New Year, or “Saint Sylvestre” of the french, begins on January 1st and ends February 1st, another winter holiday we’ll explore soon.
Christmas Village on La Defense Esplanade
In front of La Defense Arch every year is the biggest Christmas Village, who’s extending on over 10,000 m². This Christmas Village is filled with over 300 chalets displaying crafts and hundreds of square meters of festive decorations.
It is to remind the huge variety of stalls selling mouth-watering Christmas treats and delights you have to try.
Champs-Elysees Christmas Market
As i was saying before the so called City of Lights comes from the stunning illuminations on the world’s most beautiful avenue Champs-Elysees.
Here, between the Rond-point and Place de la Concorde, extends the most sparkle Christmas Market.
If you love the Christmas carols and want to enjoy the taste of some mulled wine among the best treats and delights from the regional products like foie gras, ham, french sausages and fromage, champagne and so on, this is the place for you.
Even the little folks will have plenty of things to do and games to play during the grown ups delights tasting and shopping breaks.
We hope you enjoyed exploring these Christmas Markets with us and look forward in hearing your best places to visit during winter holidays.
XOXO, from Paris
